How FootyAgent works
In FootyAgent you advance the game week by week. Each week, matches are simulated, your clients develop, money comes in and goes out, and decisions land in your inbox. Between weeks you scout, sign, negotiate and move players – at your own pace, with no timers.
The week
The central button in the game is Advance week. When you tap it, the world moves on by one week: league and cup matches are played, your clients gain experience and form, injuries happen and heal, and your agency's weekly costs and salary commissions are booked. Then it's your turn again.
The season
A season has 52 weeks: league matchdays, domestic and continental cup rounds and international breaks in which your clients can be called up. Two transfer windows – in summer before the season and in winter – are when clubs make offers and when you can move clients or arrange loans.
At the end of a season you get a summary: transfers arranged, commission earned, your most valuable client, international call-ups and your reputation. Awards such as "Agent of the Year" are handed out.
The inbox: where the decisions are
Most of the game's decisions arrive as messages in your inbox. There are 18 kinds of them, for example:
- a client who is unhappy about his playing time,
- a rival agent trying to poach one of your clients,
- sponsor requests and sponsor appearances,
- an agent contract that is about to expire,
- career advice, loan extensions and media portraits,
- an injury with a choice of rehab, or paid extra training,
- private worries of a client and public crises – a social media storm, a dressing-room row, a contract dispute,
- transfer rumours, multi-step storylines and deals your co-agent wants you to approve.
Many of these decisions have consequences later: for a client's mood and loyalty, for your relationship with a club and for your reputation.
Money
Your agency lives on commission. Transfer commission is usually the biggest source, followed by your share of your clients' salaries; sponsors, bonuses, dividends from club shares and investments add to it. On the other side are weekly running costs, upgrades, training, expenses, licences and share purchases. If the balance stays negative for too long, your agency is in danger.
Progress
Your reputation (0–100) is the measure of your agency's standing. It decides which of the 6 agency tiers you're in – Local Agency, Regional Agency, National Agency, Continental Agency, Worldwide Agency and Legendary Agency – and opens doors to bigger sponsors and stronger players. On top of that come 4 licences, season tasks, 51 achievements and 23 crests to collect.
Your pace
FootyAgent is single-player and turn-based. Nothing happens while the app is closed, there are no energy bars and no waiting times, and the whole game runs offline.
